For at least 8 years I've wanted to participate in the 3-Day Walk for the Cure but found the $2,300 fundraising commitment extremely intimidating. I have always felt that giving is a personal matter and that just because I might be passionate about a certain cause doesn't mean everyone feels the same way. This year I decided I wasn't going to worry about the fundraising. I've decided to simply ask my friends and family for their support as I prepare for the next 7 months. The support doesn't need to be monetary; it could be any number of things. It could reading my blog and offering words of encouragement when I've had a tough week. It could be helping with a fundraising event or it could be coming out to one of the cheer stations to cheer on the walkers.
Last week once I officially registered, the first thought that ran through my head was "Why did I wait so long?!?!?" :-) Now, I'm going to get busy training and preparing and I'm going to trust the universe to provide.
